On October 7, 2011 we, the 8 th class, went on a trip to England .![]()
On the ferry from Calais to Dover we were already able to see the landscape of England.
The journey was very long and tiring , especially if you did not use the night to sleep.
After an ' eternal' journey of about 18 hours we arrived in Oxford, where our hostel was situated . That day we explored Oxford city and had some free time. On Sunday, we went to London the first time to visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. For lunch we went to the City of London over the Millennium Bridge and then back to the bus. After that we had a guided tour and saw many sights of London, for example Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. ![]()
On Monday we went to Stonehenge and Avebury , the famous stone circles. It was great to see these monuments you know from pictures and TV!
On Tuesday we went to London again . First we saw the Prime Meridian at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich and after that we went shopping in Oxford Street, where everyone spent their money . The shopping tour was cool, but too short!
